Ian Choi is an oil painter whose artistic journey delves deep into the intricate tapestry of identity,
particularly as a Korean immigrant navigating life in the United States.  With a focus on the cultural duality inherent in her experience,
Ian’s work highlights the nuanced ways in which identity is woven through fabric, cultural symbolisms, and patterns.

As a BFA student at the School of Museum of Fine Arts, Ian worked on a life-size thesis painting, We’re Not From Oklahoma Anymore, which explored the realm of fabrics representing
multiple cultures and regions, unlocking new dimensions of cultural interaction between her identities.
